1990 Ertl Company : DC Comics Super Heroes

In 1990, Ertl released a line of die-cast metal toys for the DC Comics Super Heroes brand. There are 10 toys in this series and each one is accompanied by a collector card. The cards feature reprinted images of classic DC comic book covers.

The cards are approximately 2.75 x 3.75 inches, slightly larger than a standard trading card. The cards are attached to the packaging with cellophane tape on the back. The backs of each card contain a synopsis of the issue. The numbering format on the toy packaging is used to identify this series. Numbers printed on the card backs correspond with their respective comic book cover.

The are two Superman figures and two Action Comics cover cards in this series. The cover of Action Comics #485 (July 1978) was penciled and inked by Neal Adams.
