1994 Comic Images : Previews Cover Cards
"He's Back! But How?"
Comic Images released promotional trading cards that showcase the covers of
Previews, a monthly comic book magazine. The 1994 card series is
comprised of twelve 1993 covers, a checklist, and a special card that reprints
the November 1989 cover. The card backs contain information about each
featured issue.

The Superman card reprints the cover of Previews, vol. 3, no. 2,
February 1993. The embossed relief cover was also distributed on 9 x 11.5 inch
panels. The issue promoted the
return of Superman
in The Adventures of Superman #500 (June 1993). The Previews cover was created
from a drawing by Jerry Ordway, who was departing as writer of the series. According to Previews, fans requested a
second printing of the issue.
A silhouette of Superman is featured in the background of the Sin City
variant cover for September 1993. The cover was illustrated by Frank Miller. Additional card series were released by Comic Images and Previews that
include Jeff Smith's Bone and illustrations by
Greg and Tim Hildebrandt.
