1979 Cracker Jack : DC Super Hero Stamps


In 1979, Cracker Jack issued a set of DC Super Hero Stamps, or timbré in French. The cards were inserted into boxes of Cracker Jack and Hostess products in North America. These mini-cards measure approximately 1.3 x 1.75 inches. The cards are not numbered and the backs are blank. The artworks used are from comic books and various promotional materials. Each Timbre Super Hero Stamp is copyrighted 1970 by N.P.P., National Periodical Publications, Inc.

The Superman and Krypton artwork is from "The Origin of Superman!" story published in The Amazing World of Superman. The artwork was penciled by Carmine Infantino, finished by Curt Swan, and inked by Murphy Anderson.
1979 Cracker Jack Timbre Super Hero Stamps - Superman
The Mr. Mxyzptlk image is from the cover of Superman: The Mxyztplk-Up Menace, a 7" LP released by Power Records in 1975. The artwork is by Neal Adams.
