2005 Mego Museum : World's Greatest Super-Heroes

Beginning in 2005, the Mego Museum community released free sets of promotional trading cards celebrating the history of Mego collecting. The Mego Museum World's Greatest Super-Heroes cards were given away at toy stores, comic book shops, and the 2006 San Diego Comic-Con International. Eleven cards were reprinted with different backs and a copyright date of 2006. The cards were designed by Mego Museum founder Robyn Adams. The collection was produced by Secret Fan Base in Oakland, California, and printed in Canada.

Superman appears on three cards in the first WGSH series, including one card with Clark Kent. Card #1 recreates the iconic 1976 cover of Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man. The cover was penciled by Carmine Infantino, finished by Ross Andru, and inked by Dick Giordano. Superman was later redrawn by Neal Adams. Terry Austin assisted with the background inks.

World's Greatest Super-Heroes was originally a series of eight-inch dolls from Mego Corporation. The toy line features characters from both DC Comics and Marvel Comics. World's Greatest Super-Heroes debuted at E.J. Korvette department stores in New York City on November 8, 1972. The Superman doll remained in production until 1983.

The World's Greatest Superheroes newspaper comic strip ran seven days a week from April 3, 1978, to February 10, 1985. On October 20, 2022, the Mego Corporation released the 50th Anniversary World's Greatest Super-Heroes lineup. The figures and costumes are reproduced from the original designs.
