1984 Editorial Maga : Super Exito

Super Exito was published in 1984 by Editorial Maga, S.L. in València, Spain. The
216-card collection and album showcases popular films and musicians of the
era. The series was sold in paper envelopes for five pesetas each. Complete
sets and uncut nine-card panels were also distributed. The cards, or
cromos, are meant to be glued or pasted inside the 28-page Super Exito album. The card text and collector album is printed in Spanish.

The images are reprinted from theatrical posters, albums, and various
publicity photos. Card #34 is a cropped poster for Superman III, starring Christopher Reeve and Richard Pryor. The film was released in
the United States on June 17, 1983, and Spain on August 1, 1983. Christopher
Reeve appears as Clark Kent changing into Superman on card #144.
Helen Slater appears in the collector album as
Kara Zor-El from
the 1984 film
Supergirl, but a Supergirl card is not included in the series. Two different
cards are printed with #51. No card exists for #52. The Chinese horoscope
subset (#205–216) is a depiction of the Vietnamese zodiac, substituting the
rabbit with a cat.
The album format and film subjects are similar to
Video Guay, a card collection released in 1984 by Editorial Dalsa in Spain.
