2008 Upper Deck : MLB A Piece of History
On July 2, 2008, Upper Deck released the
MLB A Piece of History showcasing historical figures and moments in
baseball and American culture. Boxes contain 16 packs. Each pack contains 8
cards. Packs originally retailed for $4.99 each.
On average, there is one serial numbered baseball autograph found in every
box. Memorabilia card odds are approximately 3 per box, including one "A Piece
of Hollywood" relic.
“A Piece of Hollywood” memorabilia cards include swatches of fabric worn by
Hollywood actors on set. Card HM-15 contains a piece of a cape worn by
Christopher Reeve in the 1983
Superman III
film.
Boxes may contain a "Hair Cut Signature" redemption card error. "A Piece of
History" redemption cards were intended to be exchanged for a "Hair Cut" relic
card without a signature. The "Hair Cut Signature" cards were officially
released by Upper Deck in the 2008 SP Legendary Cuts Baseball series.
