Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was directed by Zack Snyder. The DCEU film is a sequel to Man of Steel, released in 2013. The film was released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on March 25, 2016. The cast features Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

Superman and Batman first appeared together on the cover of New York World's Fair Comics #2 released in April 1940. Superman and Batman first teamed up as honorary members of the Justice Society of America in All-Star Comics #7 (October-November 1941). Superman and Batman first met Wonder Woman in All-Star Comics #36 (August-September 1947).

Warner Bros. Pictures issued various series of promotional trading cards worldwide. A three-card set containing red character logos was distributed in the fall of 2015. The cards are not numbered and the back of each card contains the film logo.

Limited three-card sets featuring Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman were distributed at the New York Comic Con in October 2015. The cards are not numbered and the back of each card contains a brief synopsis.

Digital pre-orders in North America included a sealed three-card set featuring Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Each card back contains a different LexCorp profile for Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, and Diana Prince. The pre-order cards are packaged inside of a LexCorp branded manila folder.

The LexCorp series is expanded to include Alfred Pennyworth, Lex Luthor, and Lois Lane cards in six-card sets bundled with various Blu-ray collections. Steelbook releases of the film include limited edition cards serial numbered to 500.

The Royal Canadian Mint issued a collection of lenticular 3D coins and trading cards for the film in February 2016.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Hubsnaps were released by NECA in 2016. The discs are reminiscent of the Hawaiian milk cap cover game, commonly known as POGs.

IMDb (Internet Movie Database) distributed the IMDb Dossier Series of 30 trading cards at the San Diego Comic-Con International in July 2016. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Wonder are featured in the Heroes & Villains collection.
